Sølsta is another young producer in Canberra. He is what I regard as your classic romantic knob twiddler. The guy loves his sonic gadgets. He’s whipped up this 2 track ep, exclusive to the blog, with tracks “Future” and “Past”, that blur the lines between deep house, techno and disco. A great example of left-of-centre electronic music. It has such a “city” feel to it. Music you would listen to through headphones while walking through a busy city, oblivious to all the hustle and bustle.

There’s quite a few new producers around town with a lot of the necessary heart and drive to do some really cool things with their music, and Sølsta is one of them. I seriously insist that you immerse yourselves in these tracks from start to finish, through some good headphones or speakers. Freakout time.

Past is an ice cool, deep house jam, with a jackin’ edge.

Future, aptly named, is a more experimental take on a minimal and deep tech-house sound. A quirky, cosmic soundscape that moves between some really sweet percussive arrangements and psychedelic synth loops.
