ON REPEAT: Guest Post by Eugene Hawkins
1. Bon Iver -- Calgary (Mokhov Electronic remix)
I basically take fancy to any kind of music with good production/ideas and a beat! Really digging some of the more minimal and dubby stuff at the moment. This remix of Bon Iver‘s ‘Calgary’, for example.
Mokhov, based in San Fran, has abandoned a menial career to become the world’s first so-called ‘mobile electronic musician’. I’m not really sure either. He also has aspirations to create the ‘greatest electronic album of all time’. Possibly unrealistic ambitions aside, the guy puts out some solid remixes inspired by the likes of Aphex Twin and Four Tet.

2. The Weeknd -- Wicked Games (sy.ic remix)
Also on repeat are a bunch of promising young lads from Berlin (apparently the place to be these days), sy.ic. Best of their current output is probably the sumptuously dubby remix of The Weeknd‘s ‘Wicked Games’. Their original works aren’t too shabby either.

3. Energy 52 -- Cafe Del Mar (Ricardo Villalobos remix)
Lastly, a vastly understated remix of Energy 52‘s all-time classic ‘Cafe Del Mar’ from the master of uber-minimal himself, Ricardo Villalobos. See what you think.
You’ve probably heard this one!
