On one of my edit digs I decided to see if there were any decent re-workings of “The Killing Moon”. I played the original once during a Summer arvo set at the Uni bar and despite its dreary vibe it went down pretty well as an unexpected drop. It’s always worth seeing if someone has it on their edit radar, so after a bit of Gen Y crate digging aka Googling, this is what I came up with: an edit with additional bass, piano and brass section, making this ‘All That Jazz’ mix by Steve Griffiths kind of cute and quirky. I particularly like how those bright happy horns twinkle in contrast to the dark moan of the original parts. Something a little different!
